J.J. Ruscella is the Director of Shenandoah University's Acting Program. He has directed more than forty live theatrical and filmed productions including the International Premiere of Clive Barker's novella "The Hellbound Heart" upon which the movie "Hellraiser" had been based, the feature film The Karaoke King, and the critically acclaimed Miss Julianne (Short Film Corner Festival de Cannes). An innovator in live action simulation, Ruscella co-founded the Interactive Performance Lab at the University of Central Florida where he was a professor of theater for 12 years. Additionally, for six years he was the Director of the New York Film Academy's Acting Program at Disney/MGM Studios.
