As Associate Professor, Technical Director, and Electrical Engineer specializing in entertainment technology and automation, Randy teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in traditional and technology based topics within entertainment production. He serves as a production advisor for the department, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students training for careers in theatre production. He also serves as Director of Graduate Studies for the department. Recent Departmental production work includes serving as Technical Director on Sweeney Todd, August: Osage County, Hamlet, and The Countess of Storyville. Recent professional work includes serving as Technical Designer for visual artist, choreographer, and National Medal of Arts recipient Ralph Lemonâs 2016 Bessie Award winning Scaffold Room. He is an active member of USITT and SETC and is also a member of the Editorial Board for Southern Theatre Magazine and serves as the Editor for the Outside the Box series for the publication.
