Dr. Susan C. Brown

Alabama A&M University
Professor of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts
Dr. Susan C. Brown earned her B.A., M.F.A., and Education Doctorate at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She completed post graduate work at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Yale University, Oxford University, and International Readers Theatre at Oxford and London, England. Dr. Brown has 35 year's experience as an educator and is a member of several honor societies including Alpha Psi Omega. She has taught at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, University of Alabama in Huntsville, Asolo Theatre/Florida State University, Oakwood College, and AAMU. Susan was Creative Director for the "Grandfather Reads" PBS Series, and Director of the "Bama Blast" stadium shows under Paul "Bear" Bryant. She was a theatre scholarship recipient at Birmingham Southern College and University of Alabama. She won the Irene Ryan Award in Theatre and performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. She is a dynamic speaker.
